David and Connie Condon, the owners of DNS, have developed a unique management style that involves each and every member of the team in the process of creating the direction for the company. Each member of the DNS Team was handpicked and recruited to become part of Diversified Nonprofit Services. DNS has four staff members and does not use subcontractors; each member of the team brings a particular expertise within the nonprofit genre that qualifies them to work in all of the service areas offered by DNS, capital campaigns, feasibility studies, grant writing, strategic planning, and nonprofit management.  This focus has led to incredible success and to the publishing of a book written by Mr. Condon and Mr. Kevin Bingham entitled "The Perfect Nonprofit". The focus of this book mirrors the philosophy of the writers and the company. That philosophy focuses on creating a holistic balanced approach to leadership, governance, marketing, and development of resources that ultimately lead to impactful services to their clients. DNS is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

A 40-Year History of
Guiding Nonprofits to Success

Diversified Nonprofit Services was founded in 1985 by David F. Condon in order to serve nonprofit organizations in the areas of nonprofit management, resource development, feasibility studies, capital / endowment campaigns, strategic planning, and organizational restructuring. Having conducted his first capital / endowment campaign in the fall of 1985 as a pro bono contribution to a friend, Mr. Condon realized that there was an incredible need for the services his company offered for nonprofit organizations across the entire United States. From that humble beginning, DNS made a conscious decision to concentrate its focus on working with nonprofits across America.

Mr. Condon was the beneficiary of a nonprofit organization himself, The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. Mr. Condon was sentenced to the Boys Club as a youth by the juvenile court. With the help, support and training Mr. Condon received at the Club he went on to distinguish himself in the field of education and child psychology, before retiring to start DNS. He has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 40 years. All of his accomplishments can be directly traced back to the experiences he enjoyed at the Boys Club, which have been the foundation upon which he built his entire life. Mr. Condon annually speaks to thousands of people through the pro bono speeches he has done for nonprofits across the country over the past 38 years.

A cornerstone of DNS’ approach to working with the organizations it serves is that very project has a team of DNS Staff assigned to oversee the effort. This team is comprised of an account executive assigned to execute the day to day goals and objectives of project, as well as the Chief Executive Officer and/or President of DNS who supports the project and is available to make public presentations and participate on the larger aspects of the project. Each client has the right to meet and approve the DNS consultant who will be assigned to their project. The selection of the account executive is linked to the availability of the staff at the time the project commences, geographic location, as well as identifying staff that have experience and expertise with similar projects for other organizations.

Diversified Nonprofit Services  has worked with thousands of organizations in 48 States and 2 U.S. territories, and led campaigns that raised over 1.2  billion dollars in capital / endowment / operations funding since the inception of the company.
